Andy Hilger's newest radio station has been gaining steam for the past year Ð and shows no sign of stopping.
Thursday, Aug. 12, AM-1180 K-YES Catholic Talk Radio was proud to celebrate its first anniversary of broadcasting.
After launching the station Aug. 12, 2009, AM-1180 K-YES has been broadcasting Catholic talk radio 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, reaching the entire Diocese of
St. Cloud with its programming.

Maple Lake youth and ball players throughout the area will benefit in the spring of 2011 from the new baseball/softball complex currently under construction on school property just off Highway 55 in Maple Lake. In the spring of 2009, Scott Fobbe, a long-time resident of Maple Lake, and a parent of two children who play league baseball and fastpitch softball, approached the school board and proposed building a sports complex consisting of baseball and softball fields on school property east of the Maple Lake High School football field.Over the next several months, the school board worked with a design firm, received input from several individuals, and came up with a baseball/softball complex that would best suit local needs. The Cardinal Health Foundation announced that it has awarded more than $1 million in grant funding to help U.S. hospitals, health systems and community health clinics improve medication and operating room safety, efficiency and quality of care.
Forty organizations in 25 states have been awarded grants ranging from $7,500 up to $37,500 as part of the 2010 Cardinal Health Foundation E3 Grant Program, launched in 2008 to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and excellence of health care nationwide. More than 250 letters of intent for funding were received, with 100 organizations invited to submit full proposals and 40 being selected as grant recipients. Monday, August 23, 2010
Outfitter's Grand Opening signals new life for the building
If you've driven over the Mississippi River from Clear Lake to Clearwater on Highway 24 you've probably noticed some changes taking place on the shore.
For the past several months, Clear Waters Outfitting Company has been renovating the old creamery building, originally built in 1912 and in operation as the Clearwater Cooperative Creamery until 1961. The work will culminate at the company's grand opening on Aug. 21 and 22. And although the building has changed hands over the years, the history of the building and surrounding area remains alive and well. Sunday, August 22, 2010

Nicole Massmann has joined the Center for Rural Health (CRH) at The University of North Dakota (UND) School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
Massmann is a quality network stroke project coordinator at the CRH. She is a content specialist and supports hospitals implementing stroke care processes and practices. She is responsible for providing coordination and leadership of a statewide stroke initiative, and will work closely with critical access hospitals in eastern North Dakota.

According to diversiCOM CEO Dave Del Zoppo, the National Broadband Plan will threaten diversiCOM's ability to provide both broadband as well as affordable basic telephone service to the communities it serves. A notebook and calendar are helpful tools. "Record the date of each entry and the crucial details of the conversation, appointments or meeting," says Onstad. Ryan Arvola of Arvola Homes of Annandale recently attended the Energy Panel Structures national dealer meeting held in Las Vegas.
The three-day meeting included training on the new ENERGY STAR standards, building energy-efficient homes and other new building technologies. The meeting also included a day at the International Builders Show, the largest builder show in the country, to view the latest in building products and services.
Training was given by Sam Rashkin, national director of EPA's ENERGY STAR for Homes Program. ENERGY STAR homes are at least 20 percent more energy efficient than homes built to the International Residential Code and typically include additional energy-saving features that make them 20-30 percent more efficient than standard homes.
